Pathways of Decline in Conservation by Evaluation of Pressures and Stressors (PODICEPS)

In taking effective measures, understanding the main pressure factors is of primary importance. However, these may differ from one area to another and from one species to another. By systematically carrying out a bottleneck analysis, knowledge of stakeholders and (other) experts can be combined with knowledge from the literature, providing the most complete possible overview of the problem. Structuring this combined knowledge helps to translate it into tools for nature policy, (species) protection and research. To this end, Vogelbescherming Nederland and Sovon Vogelonderzoek Nederland have developed a framework called PODICEPS: Pathways of Decline in Conservation by Evaluation of Pressures and Stressors.
